If you’re looking for adventure, California is the place to be. This great state offers something for everybody. Where else can you go to find mountains, the ocean, the desert, farmland, vineyards and big city life all in one place? But before you decide to make the trek to California, get yourself a good map. California is huge, and it’s easy to get lost if you’re not relying on a California counties map for directions.

The best way to start planning your adventure, is to decide which California counties you would like to see, and in which order. From there, take a look at your map, and decide where the starting and finishing counties will be. The famous highway 1 which takes you all the way up the California coast is a great starting place for your trip. The following is a suggested county guideline, starting at Yosemite Park, to San Francisco, up to wine country, and then continuing all the way up to the state line.

The Diversity of California

California is the United States of America’s most populated state. Sitting on the West coast of America it is the home of Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. All of these cities are well known to everyone, mainly due to the popularity of the entertainment industry for which they are well known.

California is also well known for the gold rush. This was in 1848 to 1855 and was a time when a great many prospectors rushed to the area in the hope of finding gold and making their fortune. Most did not find gold nor make their fortune but stayed there anyway. Agriculture then became plan B for many of the prospectors and they became ranchers. Now California is one of the ten largest economic areas in the world.

California Junior Colleges

Any high school graduate or those who are 18 years of age and older can be admitted to any of the California Junior Colleges. A State Proficiency Certificate holder is also admissible to a community college. Those who are planning to attend a community college are advised to still regard the requirements for high school graduation and include as many UC and CSU entrance requisites as possible.

Those who have taken up College Preparatory course in High School may take a lesser load once admitted to College. Community Colleges in California will administer a standard assessment test in Math and English to determine which level is appropriate for new students to begin their college education. Sometimes a “Self-assessment” is used for students to determine their own Math and English Placements.
